Removing and Replacing the Hard Drive on the HP Omen X Gaming PC | HP OMEN | HP

To remove any of the system hard drives, open the access door for the hard drive you would like
to replace. To do so, squeeze on the side of the door
and swing it open. Slide the drive locking latch to the left
unlocked position. Grasp the pull loop for the hard drive bracket
and pull the drive bracket out of the unit. To remove a 3.5 inch drive from the drive
bracket, remove the four silver Philips number two screws, two on each side,
that secure the drive to the bracket. Pull the drive out of the bracket. To remove a 2.5 inch drive from the drive
bracket, detach the four, black Philips number two screws from the bottom of the drive bracket that secure the drive to
the bracket. Pull the drive out of the bracket. To replace a 2.5 inch drive into the drive bracket, place the drive with the label side up into
the bracket, aligning the screw holes on the bottom of the drive
with the holes on the bottom of the bracket. Secure the drive to the bracket with its four Philips number two screws on the bottom of
the bracket. To replace a 3.5 inch hard drive, first make sure the drive bracket has rubber
grommets in each side screw hole. Replace any missing grommets. Place the drive in the bracket with the spindle
side of the drive facing down. Secure the drive to the bracket with the four, silver Philips number two screws – two on
each side of the bracket. There are guides on the inside of the drive
bay that help to correctly align the drive bracket when replacing
the drive bracket. To replace the drive bracket, first make sure the locking latch on the bracket is still in the
unlocked position. Slide the drive bracket into its guides inside
the drive bay until the connector edge of the drive is fully seated
on the connector ports inside the PC. Slide the locking latch for the drive bracket
to the right, locked position. Close the door for the drive bay.

  1. if anyone is there please answer do I need anything else to install a new wd 5tb hard drive? like a sata cable or whatever.

  2. I'm a little worried that the hard drives are supposed to be mounted diagonally, because some hard drive manufacturers don't recommend that & even for modern hard drives with platters suspended by fluid bearings this is mechanically disadvantageous.

  3. I have an HP Omen 880 gaming PC, and I've put in a Seagate FireCuda 2TB drive (hybrid HDD/SSD) in the top of the PC where swapping of drives is a feature. The device manager shows the drive, but the "My PC" doesn't. I'm haven't been able to access this drive thus far. Do I have to try a different brand of drive for it to work? Does the HP Omen 880's swap drive ports forbid hybrid drives? If I cannot use this drive could you please recommend what drives I can use?
